Anticipation for the day began, when the bouncy castles started being blown up on the courts. The golden sun began to peek its head through the foggy atmosphere and warm the air. Excitement began to rise in children. As, they ran around the field, they gossiped about the day ahead.
After a quick meeting, lunch, then the afternoon roll in class, it was all go! Children, teachers and parents gathered on the field. Mr Harrop played music for us to all enjoy. Teachers flew around the field like superheros dressed in their costumes.
Let the fun- run begin, boomed Mr A’s voice over the loud speaker. 10, 9, 8….. 1 and off they went! Students cheered and encouraged all the runners for their 15 minutes of intense running. They puffed and panted, skipped and strolled their way around the course, gathering laps to add to their runathon totals. Icy juicies were crunched on, water was drank and fun was had.
Finally the day came to an end. Tired students were full with cupcakes, parents alive from steamy coffee and proud teachers beamed with smiles from all the effort. A great and successful day by all.
